Salah Positions - Benefits In Medical Context
80Importance of Salah
There are many benefit of Salah, for instance in bowing position spine become flexible, kidneys become suppler and tones stomach muscles. While doing Sajadah (Sujud), fresh blood spread throughout the brain which leads to getting fewer headaches. Also it is helpful to discharge electrostatic charges. In Islam Salah it is mandatory on every Muslim in any situation. Under any circumstances or event it cannot be neglected. But it doesn’t mean that you regard it as a burden, but appreciate and cheer it.
In my point of view the Arabic word “Salah” covers the broad scope then word “prayer”, the logic behind that the word “pray” means to address a prayer to God (or Islamic prayer call). On other hand, the word “Salah” means righteousness, godliness and goodness it also cover the scope of prayer as well. Muslims in Salah, thanks God, praise him, ask him to bless them and at a same time they also opt for guidance from God (Allah). It may not wrong if I say Salah is programming or conditioning in true sense.
These five times Salah condition us not to go nearer to shameful and forbidden actions, do sensible deeds and always stay on right path. In view of the fact that we as a human have restricted free will, this conditioning enable us to keep distance from things that are forbidden, as well as enjoin on things that are not prohibited. And for spiritual soul we need fajr, Zuhr, Asar, Maghreb and Ishah Salah a day.
Besides getting spiritual advantages, you can gain many physical and psychological benefits for your personality development. In a Hadith narrated by Ibn Majah, Prophet Muhammad (SAW) said Salah (prayer) is helpful to cure many diseases. To understand the wisdom behind this claim we need to assess the benefits especially physical benefits of the act of Salah.
While performing Salah we get in certain movement and actions, and please don’t forget these acts (after hearing Muslim prayer call ) are performed five times a day and it maybe equate to walking or jogging at three miles per hour.
These are the basic level exercises and doctors strongly advocate it to do on daily basis. By performing Salah, there are too many benefits to muscular system, cardiac, skeletal and respiratory system. Salah covers all these things but it put more emphasis on cardiac and muscular systems. But before going in the deep please don’t forget that main purpose of performing Salah because it’s mandatory in Islam.
Ruku
While performing Ruku (bow down to knee position) in Salah, put extra blood into upper part of body especially covering heart and kidney position. By doing that spine become suppler and the spinal nerves nourished and very helpful to relieve from backache and reducing flatulence. Not only spine it also stretches lowers back, calves and pumps the blood into upper torso. That bowing down position tones stomach muscle, kidneys, thighs and abdomen. When we get back to stand up position blood comes to lower body and during this process blood release toxins.
Sujud
After Ruku, we do Sajadah (Sujud), a position in which eight parts of body touches the ground, including the forehead, nose, hands, knees and foots fingers. In this position, human body discharges electrostatic charges which emanate perspiration in nervous system. Electrostatic charges in body results in muscles spasms, headache and neck ache. Many people around the globe take drugs and tranquilizers to get relief from these electrostatic charges. This position directly effect on frontal lobe which contains human thinking capacity, by doing Sujud or Sajadah it loose its electrostatic charge which leads to enhance its performance.
Not only on frontal lobe, it’s also helpful to get some fresh and extra blood in brain which has tremendous effect on concentration, hearing, psyche and especially on human memory. In Sujud, blood also flows into face and neck which increases its circulations which is very helpful to get healthy skin both in cold and warm seasons.
You will also get relief from various mental toxins which protect your body from Chilblains and Fibromyalgia. It also prevents sinusitis and prevents them to spread around the nose.
In Islam, it’s mandatory on every Muslim to answer Islamic prayer call five times a day and by fulfilling these obligation means five time daily exercise to ensure healthy and joyful living. I really recommend these exercises to non-Muslims as well especially during fajr prayer or early morning time. This was very interesting. I think it shows how the different practices given by God can benefit us in many ways! Thanks for sharing.
And I also believe that prayer is for God, it is for us to humble ourselves before God and recognise our place.
verily God put verious incentives for humans, now its depended on us how we get them.

Prayers are for God. I believe, these and other benefits of prayers distract us from the real purpose of praying.
Just my opinion.
